No act of generosity is too small to make a difference.

When?
Join us for a special evening honoring those living with Alzheimer's disease or related dementia. The virtual Memories in the Making will take place Thursday, November 12th, from 7:00-7:30 p.m. The cost to attend is FREE, so please invite your family and friends to register as well. Dress up or dress down -- you get to choose!

What will it be?

Brittany Price, Living Local Host with WHBF, will graciously host the event. We'll feature a mission moment, special presentation and guests, and a unique silent auction.  Guests will hear how our organization continues to be a vital resource and how we continue to serve individuals and communities impacted by COVID-19.

What is the Memories in the Making Art Therapy Program?

Memories in the Making is an exceptional art therapy program offered to our community partners. It helps people who may not be able to verbalize feelings and memories to convey their emotions through watercolor paintings. Through one-on-one art sessions with a trained facilitator, individuals affected by Alzheimer's and related dementias are able to express themselves, opening doors of communication and awakened memories. During these painting sessions, they are able to engage in meaningful social interactions with their caregivers and peers while increasing confidence and a sense of accomplishment. With the help of family, friends, and caregivers the program facilitator is able to compose the artists' stories to accompany the paintings, shedding some light on the memories behind the images we see. This program provides a safe and supportive environment where the participants are encouraged and coached based on their many abilities. Every picture is special, unique and created entirely by the person affected by memory loss.

How to Bid

Once you have completed a registration on the campaign, you will receive the welcome text message, linking you to the items to browse, bid or buy.

  1. Click on the Blue link in the Welcome text to be directed to the Items page.
  2. View Items by category or search by Item number or name.
  3. Click the item of interest to view the description as well as the current bid and or price.
  4. The system will auto-populate the bid amount based on the set increment for the item.Choose to bid at the set amount or higher.
  5. Click Bid.

How to Place an Auto Bid

Allow the system to automatically bid up to a designated amount for you. The system will bid incrementally up to the amount designated as long as someone else places a bid against you. If no one bids against your Auto Bid, the price remains the same.

  1. Click the item of interest
  2. Click the Auto Bid Tab
  3. Enter in the maximum amount you would like to bid
  4. Click Bid.

Note: When two bids are placed for the same amount, the bid placed first based on the timestamp wins. Timestamps are set when the initial bid is placed, for auto bids this is when a maximum was set not when the system prompted the bid to win.
